Distance Learning churns out a much better “Package”

There has been an on-going debate about which form of learning is more efficient and productive-traditional or distance learning. Although the debate concluded nothing definite, it did create an interesting profile of an adult who pursues distance education and following are a few excerpts from it:

  • By definition, the pursuer is an adult and mature
  • The student is engaged in the process of growth and believes in value learning
  • The student usually brings along some valuable experience with him/her
  • They are motivated and have precise direction regarding their professional future
  • They are in touch with reality and have mature expectations with their education
  • They usually have more than one commitment, which indicates that competing interests might keep them disciplined and oriented
  • They possess or develop learning patterns and strategies for attainment of ambitions and goals
